Brilliant hand-cut labradorite meticulously wire wrapped on to a delicate sterling silver dapped chain.
Inspired by the gray skies of the Sonoma Coastline. Labradorite a gemstone of Nordic folklore from the Innu people of Labrador, Canada and across the seas to Scandinavia. As no two pieces are alike and the light that protrudes will vary in degree and colors of brilliant blue (the rarest) to blue and or teals mixed with hints or gold, silver, pink and purple. One folklore reads that in order to protect those that live in the North, the gods struck its arrow to stones on earth creating a fantastic glow, hence the Northern Lights where beams and rays of great light lit up the dark skies of the long winter months allowing its people to hunt, forage and find their way home. In modern day, the stone symbolizes the light to light the inner journey within you.
This necklace measure 20 inches with a 3 inch tail and a labradorite measuring approx. 1/5 to 1 inch long. Sterling silver throughout. Beautifully worn alone and even more dramatic when layered.
The wire wrapping on my designs is never pre-fabricated or purchased in bulk. I meticulously and thoughtfully wrap each design.
